C is for Cross-Stitch

I've been doing this cross-stitch for about 15 years and it's still nowhere near completed. It's an intricate design with lots of different stitches. There's supposed to be a peacock in the middle but I'm still on the border. Clicking on the picture will give you a much clearer view.

  1. Wow, that is superb! What fantastic composition and closeup clarity! I really do fancy this one! And your needlework looks lovely and neat and precise too. I am sure that eventually when you finish it in the nursing home, it will be well worth the effort! ;-)

  5. Good use of the crossing diagonals with the needle.
It will be lovely once finished. And now you have a great photo to motivate you to continue.

  6. Great composition and I like the colours. Just think of the sense of joy you will experience when you finish it in the year 2050 or so.

  7. Fabulous composition and what a dainty cross-stitch. Lovely colors and I like how the needle was inserted in the cloth, not just on top of it. I hope you finish it soon, in maybe ten years or less ;)

  10. Hard to add anything not said already -- your best shot in this challenge so far because of the wonderful lighting. Maybe taking pictures fits you better than cross stitching :)

  11. The needle doesn't go there!

    :)

I like this one too. I hope we all hang around long enough in Worth for you to show us the end result.

  13. I used to do cross-stitch...back in the old days before the internet. hehe
I have projects that only got half done and now sit in a box in the loft gathering dust. Maybe someday I'll dig them out again.

  14. This brings back so many memories of my childhood! My mom was big into cross stitch for a while and I dabbled myself (never finishing anything, tho). I love the detail you can see in the stitches and the composition works wonderfully.

  15. I love the front to back depth of field here, it really helps emphasise the sheer level of detail in this shot!

  16. They already said it all, it is so crisp and clear in large size. Awesome!

I am the same as Lisa, I used to do some crafts including cross-stitch (usually while watching TV, now I surf the internet while watching TV.
